Emma Mentel
B.Sc (Diet) OFS
Dietician and SCIO therapist

After attaining her B.Sc Degree in Dietetics in 1988, Emma spent 2 years working as a clinical dietician and training final year dietetic students at the Universitas Provincial Hospital in Bloemfontein.  Having fought her own battles with chronic fatigue, she started on a personal path to recovery in 1992, by making changes in her nutrition and introducing supplements as part of her lifestyle. She continued exploring the benefits of nutrition after treating her daughter from the age of a few months for chronic ear infections.

Emma worked in a friend’s health shop in Bloemfontein for two years from 1998-2000 and was exposed to the different ranges and the benefits of vitamins, herbs and other supplements. Deciding to buy a SCIO device (formerly known as the QX) in 2001, Emma embarked on a path that incorporated a holistic approach to health. She is fascinated by the close link between emotional and physical health and encourages all her patients and customers to acknowledge the role emotions play in their illness.  In April 2006 Emma opened her own health store in Durban, while continuing to consult from her private practice and using the SCIO device to assist with identifying the root cause of her clients' health concerns.

Emma has furthered her knowledge in alternative medicine and regularly attends courses in Chinese Medicine and other integrated approaches to health which she incorporates into her own life and practice.

Emma has explored the benefits of detoxification over the years, helping clients and customers to alleviate various ailments by encouraging them to repair their digestive tract through detoxification and dietary changes. She is excited to share her knowledge and be a part of the South African Detox International team.
